Most of my friends got in with decent SATsApr 13 2013Other
Most of my friends got in with decent SATs around 500-600s but ACTs anywhere round 20 is good. If you have a 3.0 you probably are good to go. Most people here were not really involved in much in high school so I don't think you have to drive yourself crazy with ECs. I hear adcom want high yields so they want to see interest and they want to know you want to get in really really badly.

I applied early action to Binghamton University. I also did a lot of extracurricular activity in high school. My GPA was about 3.78-3.8 and my SATs scores were about average at 1760.

Binghamton is getting increasingly competitive every yearNov 28 2011Unknown
Binghamton is getting increasingly competitive every year. In fact, Binghamton's acceptance rate is only about 10% higher than Cornell's, which says a lot considering Cornell is an Ivy. My recommendation is don't slack off if you want to get into Bing. And if you're lucky enough to get into Bing, don't screw up because the university won't hesitate to kick you out considering there are hundreds of kids on the waiting list.

Good grades and solid extracurriculars are key to beingSep 23 2011Political Science
Good grades and solid extracurriculars are key to being a successful BU student. Being a mildly involved member of 10 clubs is nothing compared to being a leader or dedicated member of 1 or 2 activities. It's really about finding a balance: academics/grades and social activities. Finding a way to intertwine the 2 is a tremendous skill, and BU strives to make those connections.
